Team Cyclingnzshop.com - bioSPORT Report 7  8 Nov 2009
The last comment I made yesterday was to watch this space and see what happened. Well guess what? It was windy. And the wind told the whole story of both stage 8 and stage 9 of the Tour of South. It was a chilly but sunny morning in Te Anau but the bike race heated up as soon as the flag dropped. As a result of Floyd’s excellent ride yesterday, our van moved from 18th position in the >>
Landis moves 9 places North in PowerNet Tour  6 Nov 2009
Well today was definitely a better day but I wouldn’t have known it on the drive from Invercargill to Winton. Unlike yesterday with jokes about grizzly bears, this morning the mood was fairly sombre and the jokes were a little half hearted. The rain throughout the night and this morning while we were loading the van had done little to improve moods either. However, almost as soon as we had >>

Well another day another stage. We had our hopes up for a good day, having identified that the finish at the top of the Crown Terraces would be as close as anything that might suit Floyd, even though the final climb is only 2 kms long. We had an hour long drive from Invercargill to Lumsden but it was a happy crew reciting Monty Python and the Life of Brian and listening to an entertaining >>

Another windy day in Southland. Coincidentally , today’s first stage was from Invercargill to Tuatapere, the same stage as the one that was shortened because of hail, snow and sleet last year. At least this year we didn't have the snow or the sleet but we still had the wind, a bit of rain and some hail. The wind played absolute havoc in the peloton with echelons forming within the >>

Most of us had a much better day today. The sun came out, the wind dropped and the mood rose about 30 degrees above last night’s. The one primarily responsible for keeping spirits high was Floyd. He’s “been there, done that” so many times that nothing seems to faze him – “Sure, yesterday was a bad day, and sure, most of the carnage was caused by riders using high profile rims in gale >>

What a day. I thought last year had some bad days but this one took some beating. The carnage on Stage 2 is still playing on my mind and makes Stage 1 a distant memory. Stage 1 was the team time trial and was meant to be pretty straightforward. It would have been, if it hadn’t been for the wind and then the rain. The earlier teams had the wind, the same as we did but it just seemed to be >>
Cyclingnzshop.com - bioSPORT TTT Result  2 Nov 2009
Just finished the TTT in 12th place. We never expected to do a winning time and 105.55 didn't seem that good until I saw that most teams had gone over 11 minutes. We had the worst of the weather with rain as well as very strong winds. We lost JD and Jamie on the 2nd lap but the other three rode well. We're happy with 12th as it keeps us out of the scrap for the yellow jersey and we can sit >>

Well we finally did it, we managed to find a way to get Floyd Landis to come down to NZ and rider the Tour of Southland. Floyd and his manager Scott Thomson arrived in Auckland at 7am last Friday morning. We had decided not tell the media about their arrival, as we suspected that the journalists would just want to keep asking about the past, which is all very well documented. So on their >>

Professional cyclist Floyd Landis and his team mates Jeremy Meech, Nico de Jong, Nick Lovegrove and Jamie Whyte made their way to Invercargill this morning after the team presentation and dinner at Auckland restaurant Rice last evening where the high profile stage racer looked genuinely stoked to be down under and about to partake in his first race in NZ. The California resident was at ease >>
